Install

  1. Unzip the download (Safari does this automatically).
  2. Drag ajuna Capture.app into Applications and open it.
  3. Look top-right: it lives in the menu bar. There's no Dock icon and no window.
  4. Connect it to your account: click the ajuna Capture icon in the menu bar and sign in with the same email and password you use for the ajuna web apps. Signing in sets this Mac up to capture — there's nothing to paste. The first time, ajuna asks whether it may use AI on your captures (to read the text in screenshots and to title and index them); yes or no both work, and "Use AI on captures" in the menu changes it any time. If you already have a device token from the web, "Paste a device token instead…" at the bottom of the menu still works.

Three ways to capture

  • ⌃⌥C — grabs the selected text in any app and sends it to mine.
  • ⌃⌥T — a floating one-line box: type a thought, Enter sends it to slate's inbox. The box clears and stays open; Esc closes it.
  • Screenshots — every screenshot you take with the system shortcut is offered for capture (with an optional confirm popup — it can even become a ties profile photo).

The modifiers are changeable in the menu, and "Launch at login" is a checkbox there.

Permissions

It asks for nothing at launch. The first time you use ⌃⌥C, macOS shows the Accessibility prompt — that permission is what lets the app read your selection and send the copy keystroke, and the screenshot watcher also runs only once it's granted. Declined it and changed your mind? System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility → ajuna Capture.

Why a download and not the Mac App Store: the App Store requires sandboxing, and the selection hotkey needs Accessibility, which doesn't work inside the sandbox.
