ajuna Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 2, 2026
Last updated: September 9, 2026

ajuna is operated by ajuna LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("ajuna LLC," "we," "us," or "our").

This policy explains what we collect when you use ajuna and the apps in it, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what control you have. We have tried to write it in plain language. Where we say something specific — like "we do not use your content to train AI models" — we mean it literally, and the practices behind it are described below.

1. What this policy covers

This policy applies to ajuna.app and every app in the ajuna suite, including:

AppWhat it's for
mineSaving and searching things you want to keep, plus chat and agents over your own saves
slatePersonal task management
tiesRemembering people and your relationships with them
keptStoring and organizing collections
hiveHome management — recipes, maintenance records, contractors
currentEmail
daybookJournaling and reflection
inkWriting and editing

Together we call these "the Service." A single ajuna account works across all of them.

2. Who can use ajuna

ajuna is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has created an account, email privacy@ajuna.app.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information you give us

Account information. Your name, email address, and a password. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash — we never see or store your actual password. If you sign in with a third-party provider (such as Google), we receive your name, email address, and profile image from that provider, not your password.

Your content. Anything you create, upload, save, or store in the Service. Depending on which apps you use, this includes: saved links, notes, files, images, and documents; tasks and projects; entries about people you know; collection records; home and household records, including contractor and service-provider details; journal and reflection entries; drafts and written work; and messages you exchange with the Service's AI chat and agents.

Information about other people. Some apps — ties in particular, and hive when you record contractors or service providers — are designed to hold information about people other than you. You decide what goes in. See Section 8.

Payment information. When paid plans are available, payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and stores your card number; we do not. We receive and store a limited record of the transaction: the last four digits, card brand, expiration, billing country and postal code, subscription status, and payment history.

Communications. Emails and support requests you send us, and your responses to surveys or beta feedback requests.

3.2 Information from connected accounts

If you connect a third-party account — for example, connecting an email account to current — we receive an access token from that provider and the data the connection requires to work, such as your messages, contacts, and folder structure. We use that data only to provide the feature you connected it for. You can disconnect at any time in your settings, which revokes our access going forward.

3.3 Information we collect automatically

  • Device and connection data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen size, language, and time zone.
  • Usage data: pages and screens viewed, features used, buttons clicked, session length and timestamps, referring URL.
  • Log and diagnostic data: error reports, crash logs, performance timings, and API request logs.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 9.

We do not collect precise geolocation, and we do not use device fingerprinting for advertising.

4. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  1. Provide the Service — create and maintain your account, store and sync your content, and make features work.
  2. Power AI features — generate summaries, answer questions about your own content, and run in-app agents, as described in Section 5.
  3. Process payments — bill you, manage subscriptions, handle refunds and disputes.
  4. Support you — answer your questions and troubleshoot problems.
  5. Improve the Service — understand which features are used and where things break, using aggregate and de-identified usage data.
  6. Keep the Service secure — detect and prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and technical attacks.
  7. Communicate with you — send service and account notices (required), and product updates or marketing (optional; you can unsubscribe at any time).
  8. Comply with law — meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not use your content to serve you advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.

5. AI features and your content

This section matters more than the rest, so it is stated plainly.

We do not use your content to train AI models — not ours, and not anyone else's. Your notes, saves, journal entries, tasks, emails, relationship records, and chat messages are not used as training or fine-tuning data by ajuna LLC or by the AI providers we work with.

Your consent comes first. AI features are optional. Before any of your content is sent to a third-party AI provider for the first time, we ask for your explicit permission, and we explain what will be sent. You can decline and keep using everything else in the Service, and you can withdraw permission at any time in your settings. Withdrawing it stops future AI processing; it cannot recall requests already made.

How AI features work. When you use a feature that requires AI — chat over your saves, an agent, a summary, a suggestion — the relevant portion of your content is sent to a third-party model provider (currently Anthropic and/or OpenAI) to generate a response, and the response is returned to you. This happens only when you use such a feature.

Our terms with those providers. We access these models through their commercial API offerings, under terms that prohibit the provider from using data submitted through the API to train their models. Providers may retain API inputs and outputs for a limited period — typically up to 30 days — for abuse monitoring and legal compliance, after which they are deleted. These providers' practices are their own; we link to their current policies at ajuna.app/subprocessors.

Human review. No ajuna LLC employee or contractor reads your content except (a) when you explicitly ask us to look at something to resolve a support issue, (b) where necessary to investigate a specific security incident or suspected violation of our Terms, or (c) where required by law.

Accuracy. AI outputs can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. See the Terms of Service for what that means for how you should rely on them.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only in these situations:

6.1 Service providers

We use a small number of vendors to run the Service. Each is bound by contract to use your data only to provide services to us, and each is required to provide the same or equal protection of your data as this policy describes. We do not permit any of them to use your data for their own purposes.

ProviderWhat it doesWhat it can access
SupabaseDatabase, authentication, file storageAccount data and your stored content
RenderApplication hosting and backend computeData in transit through the application
VercelWeb application hosting and deliveryRequest metadata, IP address, log data
Anthropic / OpenAIAI model inferenceOnly the content sent for a specific AI request
StripePayment processingPayment and billing information
PostHogProduct analyticsUsage and device data, pseudonymous user ID
Google (Analytics 4 + Tag Manager)Website traffic analytics and tag managementUsage and device data, IP address (truncated)
ResendTransactional and marketing email, including the public-beta waitlistName, email address, message content

A current list is kept at ajuna.app/subprocessors, and we update it before adding a new vendor. All of these providers are located in the United States or store data in US regions.

How our analytics are configured. We run Google Analytics only on our marketing website, not inside the Service or the app, and we have turned off Google Signals and all advertising features, so Google does not use this data to build advertising audiences. IP addresses are truncated. PostHog is configured without session recording, so we never capture video of your screen or keystrokes.

6.2 At your direction

If you connect an integration, share content, or export data to another service, we transmit it as you have instructed.

6.3 Legal and safety

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith it is required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of ajuna LLC, our users, or the public. Where we are legally permitted to notify you of a request for your data before responding, we will.

6.4 Business transfers

If ajuna LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy, and you will have the opportunity to delete your account first.

7. How long we keep information

DataRetention
Your content and account dataFor as long as your account is active
After you delete your accountRemoved from production systems within 30 days
Encrypted backupsPurged on a rolling basis within 90 days of deletion
Billing and tax recordsUp to 7 years, as required by law
Server and security logsUp to 12 months
Inactive accountsWe may delete accounts inactive for 24 months, after emailing you at least 30 days beforehand

8. Information about other people

Several ajuna apps are built to hold information about people other than you — the point of ties is to remember details about the people in your life, and hive may hold contact details for contractors and service providers.

You control what you put there. When you enter information about another person, you are responsible for doing so lawfully. You should not use ajuna to store information about others that you have no right to hold, and you should be thoughtful about sensitive details.

For that information, ajuna LLC acts on your instructions. Requests from a third party to access or delete information you have stored about them will, in most cases, be directed to you, unless the law requires otherwise.

9. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for two purposes:

  • Strictly necessary: keeping you signed in, maintaining your session, and security. These cannot be turned off without breaking the Service.
  • Analytics: understanding how the Service is used, so we can improve it. Inside the Service we use PostHog; on our public marketing pages we also use Google Analytics 4, configured as described in Section 6.1.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or social media tracking pixels, and we do not enable Google's advertising or audience features.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information, though as stated above we do not sell or share personal information in the first place.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. We extend these rights to all users in the United States, not only residents of states that require them.

  • Know / Access — what personal information we hold about you, where it came from, and who we have disclosed it to.
  • Portability — receive a copy of your content in a portable format.
  • Correct — fix inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete — delete your account and personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising — we do not do any of these, but the right is yours regardless.
  • Limit use of sensitive personal information — we do not use sensitive personal information for any purpose beyond providing the Service.
  • Withdraw consent — where we rely on your permission, such as AI processing, you can withdraw it at any time in your settings, without losing access to the rest of the Service.
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge a different price, or provide a lower quality of service because you exercised a privacy right.

How to exercise them. These will be available shortly in your account settings, with full export functionality for your data. In the meantime, email privacy@ajuna.app. We will verify your identity by confirming control of the email address on the account, and respond within 45 days (extendable by another 45 days where permitted, with notice to you).

Authorized agents. You may designate an agent to make a request for you. We will ask for proof of authorization and may ask you to verify your identity directly.

Appeals. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing privacy@ajuna.app with "Appeal" in the subject line. We will respond within 45 days with our decision and the reasons for it. If your appeal is denied, residents of some states may contact their state Attorney General.

California residents

In the preceding 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information as defined by the CCPA: identifiers (name, email, IP address); commercial information (subscription and transaction records); internet or network activity (usage and log data); and other information you voluntarily provide, which is the content you store in the Service. We collect this from you directly and automatically from your use of the Service, for the business purposes described in Section 4, and disclose it to the service providers listed in Section 6.1.

We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

11. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, row-level access controls in our database so that one account cannot read another's data, hashed credentials, limited internal access on a need-to-know basis, and monitoring for unusual activity.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for enabling multi-factor authentication if it is available. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any required regulators as the law requires, without unreasonable delay.

12. Our mobile apps

The ajuna app collects and uses information the same way the web app does, as described above. A few things are specific to the app:

  • AI features are opt-in. Before any of your content is sent to a third-party AI provider, the app asks for your explicit permission and explains what will be sent. You can decline, and you can withdraw permission later in Settings → Privacy.
  • Deleting your account. To delete your account and everything in it, email privacy@ajuna.app. Deletion follows the schedule in Section 7.
  • We do not track you. We do not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, because we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not use advertising identifiers, and Google Analytics is not present in the app — in-app analytics are PostHog only.
  • Device permissions. The app requests access to your camera, photo library, or notifications only when you use a feature that needs it, and you can revoke any of these in your device settings at any time. We do not collect precise location, your contacts, your photo library, or health data.
  • What Apple tells us. Apple provides us with anonymous, aggregated download, usage, and crash statistics through App Store Connect. We do not receive your Apple Account credentials or payment details from Apple.

13. Where we operate

ajuna is offered in the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States. We do not currently offer the Service to users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, and this policy is not designed to satisfy the GDPR. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If we make a material change — for example, a new category of data, a new purpose, or a new category of recipient — we will notify you by email or in-app notice at least 30 days before it takes effect, and update the "Last updated" date above. We will keep prior versions available at ajuna.app/legal/archive. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
